New Student Orientation at The College at Southeastern is an event planned for all new college students. Within this orientation process, we have set aside a special weekend of activities specifically for you. Welcome Weekend begins Thursday, August 7th and continues through Sunday, August 10th. Then, all students in the seminary and the college join together for the remainder of New Student Orientation Monday, August 11th and Tuesday, August 12th.

All new college students are able to move in to their new campus during the week of August 4 – 8. If you are living in campus housing, you will finalize arrangements in the Housing Office when you arrive and can then begin moving into your new home. Also, if you have not already submitted your housing application, you may begin the process by going to the Housing Office portion of our website.

Placement exams will be held Thursday, August 7th. For details about test location and which tests are offered, please see the Welcome Weekend Schedule.

Welcome Weekend check-in begins Friday, August 8th in the Ledford Student Center between 5:30 p.m.- 6:45 p.m. Please stop in to let us know you are here and pick up a welcome gift. You will also meet your Orientation Leader for the weekend at this time.  There is a Welcome Meeting in the Ledford Center at 7:00 p.m. For a detailed description of what to do once you and your family arrive, please click here.

You will participate in several activities during the day Saturday which will answer questions, give important information, and allow time for getting to know fellow classmates at The College at Southeastern. Saturday evening Southeastern will host a dinner to wrap up the weekend (students may bring up to two (2) guests with them to the meal; childcare will not be provided). Beginning Monday, all new college students will join in with new seminary students to participate in matriculation and become an official, registered student. Classes begin Thursday, August 14th.

Please note that all new college students are required to attend Welcome Weekend and must register through the online registration. Welcome Weekend registration is not automatic upon acceptance to the college. Therefore you must fill out and submit the online registration as soon as you have received notification of acceptance from the Admissions Office. 

The fee for your orientation Welcome Weekend is $75. Payment is due on or before July 14, 2008 along with your completed Welcome Weekend registration. The online registration form will provide you with a link to our convenient and secure on-line payment system. You will not be able to enroll in classes until this payment has been made.
